Property insurance holders living in flood-prone areas will undoubtedly breathe a sigh of relief following an announcement that flood insurance for residential homes will be offered for an extra 30 days, after the current industry flood insurance agreement ends next month.

A voluntary agreement between the government and the Association of British Insurers (ABI) to provide cheap flood insurance will draw to a close on June 30th, which could potentially spell disaster for many landlords and managing agents, who may be forced to pay extra as a result.

Talks are currently being drawn up between the ABI and government, but as yet no resolution has been reached.
